Obituary for Margaret Redman Unkle

Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 10:00 AM in Holy Face Catholic Church with Father Joseph Sileo officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation:
Viewing/Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2006 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM
Margaret Redman Unkle, 77 of Callaway, MD died February 8, 2006 in Callaway, MD. Born July 23, 1928 in Leonardtown, MD she was the daughter of the late John Bean and Eva Gertrude Evans Redman. She is survived by her children June Maher and her husband Dennis of Lexington Park, MD; Debbie Rice of Great Mills, MD; Bobby Rice, Sr and his wife Connie, Timmy Unkle and his wife Mary, Mark Unkle and his wife Claudia and Tony Unkle all of Callaway, MD; Terri Verbic-Boggs and her husband Steve of Leonardtown, MD. She is also survived by her husband of 46 years Mann Unkle; sisters Rose Vinson of Valley Lee, MD and Betty Kestenis of Lexington Park, MD; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Pat Rice and her brother and sisters, William Redman, Genevieve Bean, Leon Redman, Buck Redman, Mary Edna Wallace, Buster Redman and Theresa Norris. Mrs. Unkle was a lifelong St. Mary's County resident where she was a graduate of Great Mills High School, Class of 1946. She was employed as a Computer Systems Analyst for the Naval Aviation Depot, Operating Center at Patuxent River (NAS) for 13 years, until her retirement on June 30, 1990. She belonged to the Holy Face Choir, a volunteer for the Office on Aging, and was CCD Teacher. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, bowling, softball and Senior Olympics. The family received friends on Friday, February 10, 2006 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, February 11, 2006 in Holy Face Catholic Church with Father Joseph Sileo officiating. Interment was followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jamie Yeatman, Todd Rice, Bobby Rice, Jr, Jason Verbic, T.J. Unkle, and Andrew Unkle. Honorary Pallbearers were Jody Yeatman, Jennifer Yeatman, Kristin Rice, Stephen Rice, Kelly Rice and Brian Verbic. Contributions may be made to Lymphoma and Lukemia Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605 and or St. Mary's County Emergency Friendly Fund, 21943 Point Lookout Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
