Condolence: Father was a wonderful priest. His charism for unity brought the Catholic faith to many people on their own particular faith journey. He was a gifted confessor and community leader.

Condolence: I met Father John at the veterinary hospital where I worked. He was a devoted pet parent to his kitties. As I came to know him he transformed what I thought I knew about priests. He was also so warm, caring and approachable. He also had a fun sense of humor and told me many stories that I will always remember. I loved him dearly and he will be sorely missed. God's peace to you Father. I will never forget you.

Condolence: Father John,
I just want to thank you so much for all the laughs, fun, and such beautiful memories from the years at Father Andrew White and St. Aloysius. It was such a joy to reconnect with you in 2014. I wish you peace, love and eternal rest. Please know I love you and will truly treasure all of the wonderful memories with you with which I was blessed. Oh, and the house you blessed back in 1977 is still standing. Ha Ha! Love you sweet man.

Condolence From: Robin Mattingly
Condolence: There are so many good things I could say about Father Mattingly, but it would take me a long time. He was such an amazing Father and was the only priest that told me the truth about my ex-husband. I respected him so much and was sorry that I didn't get to see him much anymore. I loved him and trusted him the upmost. We will all miss you so much. May you rest in peace in the Lord's arms.

Condolence: Father John, we will always cherish the years of friendship and service you gave to our family and community. All the lunches and dinners we enjoyed with you over laugher, the many prayers you said for all those we loved, and for your ever constant willingness to be there always for everyone, we are forever grateful. You married our children, baptised our grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and celebrated so many special occasions with us.
I am especially fond of remembering all the small children I taught over the years in CCD and how the children loved hearing your footsteps climbing the church steps over the sanctuary. The stories you shared of your own childhood made God so real to them! A priceless sampling of our Lord's graciousness and love of his children you modelled so well.
No matter who you encountered Father John, whether it was the young or old, you made each one feel special. I know you helped turned many hearts back to our Heaveny Father. May you rest in His Heavenly presence and those of His saints and your dear friends and family. We love and miss you, Father.

Condolence: Fr. John, I feel certain that you were welcomed by God our Father with the words - Well done my good and faithful servant! I have so many memories of you - on the altar, in the classroom, and in our friendship - which began almost 50 years ago! Most special though are the birthdays that we shared each year on January 16th! I will always remember these times with love! Thanks for representing Christ so well and for inspiring me in my journey toward knowing, loving, and serving God! Enjoy heaven and be ready to welcome me when the time comes! Rest In Peace, my dear friend! ❤❤
