Obituary for George Trenouth Edmonds

George Trenouth Edmonds, 79 died Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Born August 12, 1938 to the late Dr. G.M. and Mrs. Kay (Lindsay) Edmonds of Horton, Kansas. He attended St. Benedicts MaurHill Prep School and received a B.A. at St. Louis University of St. Louis, MO.
He moved to DC/MD and was employed by Central GMC for several decades before retiring to his wife’s hometown of Piney Point, MD where they’d spent many summers creating memories with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Rock) Edmonds with whom he’d just celebrated their 50th Anniversary. He is also survived by his daughters Robin Christine, Jeanine Trenouth Martin and son-in-law Michael Martin. He is predeceased by his twin brother Joseph Lindsay Edmonds. And survived by his family, wife Elizabeth, Children; Catherine and Joe (Staci). He is survived by his younger brother Stephen James, his wife Ann and children Scott, David (Christine), Christopher (Marssia) and their families. He is also survived by his half-sister Janet (Michael) Bowen, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law who he dearly loved and revered as part of his nuclear family.
George loved sailing, fishing, chess, spending time with family laughing, participating with members of 2nd District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad in Valley Lee, the Sheriff’s Department Citizens Advisory Board in Leonardtown. He is remembered as a kind man who never met a stranger, loved his family, giving and receiving inspirations of laughter.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 12:00PM-1:00PM in St. George Catholic Church, Valley Lee, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00PM with Father Paul Nguyen officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
