Margaret Eleanor Yorkshire, 93 of Chaptico, MD died May 11, 2006 in St. Mary's Nursing Center. Born August 23, 1912 in Chaptico, MD she was the daughter of the late William and Ella Baker. Mrs. Yorkshire was preceded in death by her husband James Habby Yorkshire, whom she married in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church. She was the loving mother of Eleanor Cecelia Fenwick of Chaptico, MD and Lillian Gertrude Yorkshire of Washington, DC. She is also survived by her brother John Spriggs Baker of Clements, MD, sister Julia Rebecca Young of Great Mills, MD and one grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Margaret Yorkshire and her siblings Daniel Webster Baker, Eliza Louise Bush, Joseph Hughes Baker, Mary Alberta Mason and James Richard Baker. She attended St. Mary's County Public Schools and was a housekeeper for St. Mary's Hospital for 12 years until her retirement in 1973. She enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends as well as gardening, planting flowers and playing bingo. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 15, 2006 from 5 â?? 8 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home with prayers being said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church; Chaptico, MD with Fr. John Stack officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Morganza, MD. Arrangements provided by the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A.
