A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sharon Williams officiating. Interment will follow at 12:00 PM in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD.

Visitation:

Viewing/Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 6:00 PM.

Nellie Amy Pilkerton, 97 of Leonardtown, MD and formerly of Salisbury, England died Monday, November 10, 2008 in St. Mary’s Nursing Center. Born January 28, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Amy Press Bridges. She was the loving wife of the late Ernest Mitchell Pilkerton who preceded her in death in 1968. She is survived by her brother Alfred Charles Bridges of Salisbury, MD, her brothers-in-law Lindsey Pilkerton of Philadelphia, PA and Lawrence Pilkerton of FL as well as her nieces June Swatton and her husband Malcom of Wherwell, England and Christine Dennis and her husband Renly of California, MD. She was preceded in death by her brother Henry Thomas “Harry” Bridges. Nellie attended grammar school in England and was a lover of animals. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD where prayers will be said at 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home with Rev. Sharon Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD at 12:00 PM. Pallbearer will be: Louie Aldridge, Jr.
