A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady's Catholic Church, Medley's Neck with Fr. Thomas LaHood officiating. Interment will be Private.

Visitation:

 

Viewing/Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 8:00 PM.

 

Frances Marie Coombs, 81, of Leonardtown, MD died November 14, 2008 in St. Mary’s Hospital. Born August 31, 1927 in Medley’s Neck, MD she was the daughter of the late Francis Xavier and Frances Elizabeth Cameron. She was preceded in death by her husband Ira John Coombs, Sr. in July of 1981. She is survived by her children: Ira John “Johnny” Coombs, Jr. and his wife Ruth of Loveville, MD, Rex Coombs and his wife Kathy and Dee Coombs and his wife Nita all of Leonardtown, MD; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Frances was a lifelong St. Mary’s County resident where she attended St. Mary’s Academy. She was a school bus contractor for 15 years until her retirement in 1982. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 17, 2008 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady’s Catholic Church, Medley’s Neck with Fr. Thomas LaHood officiating. Interment will be Private. Pallbearers will be: Chris Bistline, Joseph Matthews, Douglas Abell, Joseph Frank Bussler, Jr., Peter Cameron and Gene Severson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Allen Coombs, Katie Ann Coombs, Julie Marie Coombs, Kim Ann Bistline and Anna Joy Bussler. Contributions may be made to Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary, P.O. Box 299, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
