A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 10:30 AM in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Avenue, MD. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Bushwood, MD.

Visitation:

 

Viewing/Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM.

 

Mary “Theresa” Thompson, 58, of Avenue, MD died March 24, 2008 in St. Mary’s Nursing Center. Born April 16, 1949 in Leonardtown, MD she was the daughter of the late James Walter and Minnie M. Farrell Lacey. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Nathaniel Thompson who died on April 23, 1997, whom she married on August 14, 1971. She is survived by her siblings: James Ed Lacey, Howard Lacey, John G. Lacey, Dorothy Trossbach, Robert J. Lacey, Sr. and Ann Cheseldine all of Avenue, MD, William A. Lacey of Compton, MD, Louise Mattingly of Chaptico, MD and Shirley May Knott of Clements, MD. She was also preceded in death by her sister Margaret B. Hill. She was a life long St. Mary’s County resident where she was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and cooking. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 10:30 AM in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Avenue, MD. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Bushwood, MD.
