Walt was Chapter Chaplain of our SCRC Chapter at the time of our 2nd Chapter Christmas Party back on Dec. 1st 2007. Barb and I got married at that Christmas party. Walt was not only in the ceremony, but he also had a "hands on" role as he assisted the officiating pastor. Walt and the pastor bound Barbara and my hands together with a stole from the pastor's robe, After that part of the ceremony was concluded and before we were pronounced husband and wife, the pastor, Walt, Barb, and I placed one hand on each other's hand in prayer. Then after the ceremony was over, we had our Chapter Christmas Party. I don't think Walt ever knew just how much his participation in our wedding meant to Barb and I. I also can't eloquently describe just how much his friendship meant to me. The picture you see was taken that day back in 2007. (Walt and Vona was also at the Christmas party the year prior when Barbara and I got engaged)
There are so many stories that could be told, More motorcycle miles, meals, and conversations shared than I have time, or spacce to tell you, but the one above means the most to me. One that can never be replaced or duplicated.
Walt, I pray you rest peacefully in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior until the day we are all gathered together again. I really miss you my friend!
