Obituary for
Robert Dennis "Bob" Stevens
Robert (Bob) Dennis Stevens, 65, of New Carrollton, MD, passed away on April 6, 2016 in Mechanicsville, MD. Born on May 19, 1950, he was the son of the late Hazel Faye Hughes and Andrew John Stevens. Bob is survived by his significant other Virginia A. McDonald. Children; Robert D. Greene of VA and Step Daughter Terri Lemerise (Rob) of MD, 2 grandchildren Buddy and Breanna Lemerise. Sister, Peggie McRoberts of Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Catlin of MD. Bob served in the United States Army from June 17, 1968 to April 4, 1970, his duty stations included Ft. Benning, GA and serving in the Vietnam War. Bob was a firefighter for the Washington, DC Fire Department Engine 28, Truck 14 for 32 years retiring on December 18, 2010. He co-located from Prince George’s County MD to St. Mary’s County, MD in 2010. Bob enjoyed hunting, darts, fishing, playing the drums, and listening to music.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Bill Nickerson officiating. Interment will be held on April 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Cheltenham, MD. Pallbearers will be; Rob Lemerise, David McDonald, Francis McDonald, Bill McDonald, Randy Carroll and Tommy Gagnon.
