I remember all the practical jokes he use to play at work. He had a great sense of humor and could make a work day fun. I Will especially miss him at "Festivus". Condolence: April and family - I was trying to remember how long I have known Rusty and I could get as close as my senior year of high school. Rusty was one of those guys that could be serious, make you laugh, aggravate you till you were ready to throw something at him, there for you if you needed a friend or help, and, God forbid, you got into trouble, you just hoped you were in their area because you knew you were in the best hands with those guys. I don't think a lot of this county quite realizes what they lost this week. The dedication, the knowledge, the mentorship that he has provided throughout these years. While I mourn for our loss and that of yours, I am so happy that he is without pain. God speed, Rusty.

Condolence: Dear April, Where do I start. Let me begin at the beginning when your beloved Rusty joined the fire department. Little did I know when he walked in the door of the old station that here was a young man who was going to leave his mark on all of us. He jumped right into learning all he could about fighting fires and it didn't take us long to re3alize just what kind of man we had here. He quickly moved up in the officers ranks and the men he commanded has the greatest respect for him and would follow him anywhere. May he rest in peace free from pain wrapped in the arms of our Lord. I love this guy.

Condolence: I knew Rusty from Bay District when I was in for a short time years ago. He was always pleasant to be around and a good mentor. I am sorry to hear about his passing. April, I know you have many wonderful memories to hold dear close to your heart. He will be sorely missed by many.
