Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Grindstaff,73, of Great Mills, MD formerly from Clements, MD passed away unexpectantly on March 15, 2021 in Leonardtown, MD. She was born on May 13, 1947, and was the loving daughter of the late Mary Quade and Roy Quade. Betty is survived by her husband Dwight Grindstaff whom she married on September 4, 2004 in Leonardtown,MD. She is the loving and devoted mother of Guy A. Lawrence (Monique) of Leonardtown, MD, and Bonnie L. Readmond of Ruther Glen, VA. Cherished husband David Grindstafff of Great Mills, MD. Adored Grandma Betty of Kiley Lawrence, Bowen Lawrence, and Murphy Lawrence and the affectionate Maw Maw of Lacey Readmond. Dear sister of David Quade and wife Patsy of Clements, MD, Jimmy Quade of Clements, MD and Bobby Quade and wife Margie of Leonardtown, MD. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Betty Ann was born and raised on a farm in Clements, MD. She was educated at Holy Angels-Sacred Heart and Margaret Brent Schools. Betty Ann was a hard worker and utilized that strong work ethic for several years as a Head Bookkeeper and Receiver in the grocery store business, which provided her the opportunity to comfortably retire at the age of 62 years. She enjoyed her last retirement years spending time with family and friends, along with her passion of watching baseball, hockey, and QVC network.

Betty Ann was a dedicated mother and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren while embracing every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Maw Maw and Grandma Betty. She was a kind and giving person who always made people around her welcome. When not spending time with family, Betty Ann enjoyed the QVC network, as well as others who received her QVC gifts. As previously mentioned, when not looking for the next QVC deal, she enjoyed watching the rooting for her favorite baseball and hockey teams, as she was an avid Washington National and Washington Capitals fan. Along with birdwatching, going to the beach and spending time with family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 9:00 Am to 10:00 Am in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Joe Lloyd officiating. Interment will be private.

Please keep Elizabeth Ann “Betty Ann Grindstaff in your prayers.

Guy and Bonnie, we have many wonderful memories of your mom from "back in the day". Our families spent some fun days together when you were youngsters. Sad that we lost touch but those days are not forgotten. Betty Ann's humor was delightful and her laugh was contagious. We are so very sorry for your loss and will keep her and all who love her in our thoughts and prayers.
