Katherine Louise Burton, 76, of Great Mills, MD, passed away on June 20, 2021 at home.
Born on April 19, 1945 in La Plata, MD, she was the daughter of the late James R. Pilkerton and Helen Pilkerton, Port Tobacco, MD.
Louise worked at Robert Hall Clothes in White Plains, MD for many years before becoming a stay-at-home grandmother caring for her grandson and other children of friends before retiring and spending the rest of her years with her best friend and soul mate, her husband Gary until his recent passing. Gary was her everything!
Louise loved her family and the time she spent surrounded by them. She loved to be outside feeding and watching her birds and deer in the backyard, listening to country music, and dancing.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Theresa L. Bonner (Bill), California, MD, her grandson, Christopher M. Sherman (Shayna), and great grand-daughter, Hailey Jean Sherman, Mechanicsville, MD.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Gary Gene Burton, her father James R. Pilkerton, mother Helen Pilkerton, Port Tobacco, MD, brothers Thomas R. Pilkerton, Port Tobacco, MD, Kenneth M. Pilkerton, La Plata, MD, her father-in-law, Robert B. Burton and mother-in-law Hazel M. Burton, Bel Alton, MD.
Interment will be private.
