Condolences

Condolence From: Andrew Hackney
Condolence: Praying for you all, and sending my deepest condolences. Anne absolutely adored her grandkids, and would always tell us stories about her visits with them. Anne was my supervisor from 2013-2020 at the Leonardtown Library, and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to learn from. I appreciated her kindness and willingness to teach others so much. I will forever cherish those 7+ years.

Condolence: So sorry for your loss. We did not know Anne until she moved in behind our home. This Spring we exchanged some flowering plants. She was an avid gardener and walker and we will miss seeing her working in the yard!

Condolence: Dear Shannon & April, What a legacy your Mom has left! You and your loving families AND…. A dynamic, customer focused St. Mary’s County Library system. I had the honor of working with Anne when I was the County Library Director from 2003 to 2015. As the Manager of Leonardtown’s Circulation Department (the 2nd busiest library in all of Southern MD), Anne not only provided excellent customer service but she also spent endless hours learning about and helping us select the automated circulation system for all of the Southern MD libraries. Anne was an invaluable voice-of-reason and mentor to other managers and to her staff. I also know, without a doubt, that Anne’s advocacy skills helped us push the new Leonardtown Library over the finish line. She helped us pack the County Council room, time and again, for the endless number of public hearings. So whenever you visit the Leonardtown Library please make sure your children know that it would not have happened without their Grandma :-) Shannon & April, my heart aches for you. My only prayer is that the love and joy which your Mom shared with you will bring you strength and happy memories in the days head. Godspeed, Kathleen Reif
