Obituary for Edna Mae Boothe

Edna Mae Boothe was a woman with a quick wit, sense of humor and full of sarcasm. In spite of that, she was a caring, loving, mom, sister, grandmother and friend. She left this world too early on June 8, 2022 at the age of 67.

Edna was born to Vivian and Walter Barnes (both deceased) on August 7, 1954. She was part of the St. Mary’s Academy Class of 1973. She was blessed with two wonderful sons, Kenny (Michele) Boothe and Ricky (Krisy) Boothe (deceased). She adored her two beautiful grandchildren, Lexi and Abby. She is survived by her loving husband, Neal Adams, whom she married on March 28, 2015. Her surviving siblings include Ruth (Jack) Whallon, Louis Barnes, twin-sister Ellen (David) Holcomb, Susan “Susie” Barnes, and David (Karen) Barnes. Previously departed siblings include, Walter Barnes Jr., Nancy Long and Timothy Barnes.
Edna was a former volunteer for Ridge Drum and Bugle Corp, Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad, Hospice of St Mary’s and often played Echo Taps for military funerals. She belonged to Girl Scouts of America and the Red Hat Lady’s Society.

Edna worked as a Customer Service Representative for 30 years and retired in 2011. After retirement she would spend her days drinking coffee, listening to wind chimes, watching birds feed, putting puzzles together, reading books, taking pictures and collecting more of her crazy socks. She loved the holidays and making costumes to dress up in for events. She enjoyed traveling, but especially adored and loved spending time with family and friends.
