Obituary for
Angela Marie Pitts
Angela was born 2/21/1962 in Washington DC to David Henry Pitts and Barbara Ann Pitts. Angela was the first born of three. Karen and John followed. They lived in Prince George’s county. Angela attended special schools during her school age years. First was Hillcrest Heights special center until she was 14 and moved to St Mary’s county Md. in 1976. There she transferred to Green Holly. After Green Holly Angela went to the developmental center in Hollywood At 21 Angela moved into the Clements group home and lived there until her passing on June 12, 2022.
Outings with her Arc family were always happy times for Angela, and she would NEVER pass up a chance to go to McDonald’s and get her favorite cheeseburger, coke and chocolate chip cookies. Angela will be remembered for her warmth- she would greet everyone who entered the house.
She was very involved with special Olympics and loved going to Towson for the games. She did the basketball and softball throw and the 50 yard dash. Angela worked for several thrift and donation centers operated by the ARC and enjoyed her work. She loved her life in the group home and had many friends. She enjoyed the trips that they took and the dinners they had. She enjoyed her photo albums and the pictures she had. She enjoyed her TV Land. She loved the older shows. She loved her family especially her mom and dad.
She will be missed by the many who loved her including her dedicated staff and former staff Alice, Donna, Janet, Vicki, Janelle, Darnisha, Dawn and Holly.
Angela is survived by her sister Karen Guy (Buddy) of Mechanicsville, MD, brother,,John Pitts (Debbie) of Celeste, TX. Nieces, Chelsey Capezio (Tony) of Edgewarter, MD, Nikki Duncan (Colton) of Van Alystne and Laura Pitts of Van Alystne, Nephews, Chas Guy (Meghan) of Charlotte, NC, Cory Middleton (Cassie) of Vienna, VA, and Josh Pitts of Celeste, TX.
