Phyllis Kirtley Lange, “Phyll”, 100, of Leonardtown, MD, formerly of, McLean, VA, passed away on November 28, 2022 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on December 13, 1921 in Towson, MD, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice Kirtley and the late George Kirtley. Phyllis was the loving wife of the late John Phillip Lange, whom she married on February 16, 1946 in Towson, MD, and who preceded her in death on May 6, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Pauline Lange of Leonardtown, MD, her grandchildren Jennifer Moore, Jake Lange, and Clara Hayward, as well as five great grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her children Virginia Lange Kulajian and Robert S. Lange, and her seven beloved siblings.

Phyllis graduated from Towson Catholic High School in 1938, and then earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Towson University; at the time she attended, it was called Towson State Teachers College. Phyllis moved to St. Mary’s County, MD from Fairfax County, VA in 1978 and was a homemaker.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM with Father Ryan Pineda officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Zaven Kulajian, Clara Hayward, Jennifer Moore, Dylan Palmer, Maddox Palmer, and Jake Lange. Honorary pallbearer will be Philip Hayward.
