Obituary for Brian Edward Bussard

Brian Edward Bussard
Brian Edward Bussard, 62, of Mechanicsville MD., passed away on February 26th 2023, at his home with his girls by his side. He was born in Baltimore MD on March 9, 1960, to the late Joseph and Delores Bussard. Brian grew up in Seabrook MD until 1975, when he and his family moved to St. Mary’s county, MD. He attended Chopticon High School. In 1978, Brian met Donna Guy. On November 4th, 1983, Brian and Donna were married at St. John’s Church and were married for 39 wonderful years. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Deanna Lynn Boles (Jacob) and Katherine Ann Quade (Justin).

Brian worked hard to provide for his wife and two daughters in printing for over 20 years, as well as a sales representative for PepsiCo/Frito Lay for 15 years. Though these were his professional occupations, Brian was skilled in many areas of expertise, from car repair to woodworking. Brian could find a way to fix it or build it if needed. In his later years, he took pride in creating custom woodworking pieces for each of his grandchildren.

Brian was a family man in every sense of the phrase. He was a dedicated and loving father and husband. These qualities grew exponentially when he became a grandfather. To his beloved grandchildren, Nolan Boles, Mila Boles, and Annie Quade, he was known as G-Daddy and they meant the world to him. Some of Brian’s fondest memories were his various trips with his family both growing up with his brothers and sisters, and as an adult with his children and grandchildren.

Brian was also an avid sports fan who never liked to miss a Ravens or Orioles game. He played softball throughout his life and enjoyed a round of golf and riding bike trails in his older years. Brian enjoyed gambling and was always up for a good game of pitch. He was always good for a laugh and had a wittiness that would rarely fail to make you smile. If you met him once, there is a good chance you had a laugh as well. He was a beloved father, husband, brother and friend that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Bussard and Delores Bussard. He is survived by Joseph Bussard (Pittsville, MD), Linda Metcalf (Clarksville, TN), Donald Bussard (Mechanicsville, MD), and Michael Bussard (Mechanicsville, VA).

Friends and family will be received from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 9th at St. John’s Church in Hollywood, MD followed by Mass at St. John’s Church at 10:30. Interment will immediately follow at Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be Joseph Bussard, Donald Bussard, Michael Bussard, Daniel Metcalf, Michael Guy, and Allan Guy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Guy, Justin Quade, and Jacob Boles. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
