Anna Elizabeth McCauley, age 87, formerly of Montross, VA, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2023, in Great Mills, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Raymond A. McCauley whom she married on August 8, 1953 in St. Ignatius Church in Washington, DC and who preceded her in death on February 18, 2007, father, Francis M. Martin Sr., mother Alice E. (Soper) Martin and her daughter, Catherine M. McCauley.
Anna graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 1953, and married the love of her life, “Raymond Allen”, on August 8, 1953. The family eventually settled in Waldorf, Maryland where they raised their four daughters.
They would spend their summers at Goose Bay Marina boating on the Potomac River and were members of the White Plains Moose Lodge.

Anna retired from Naval Research Federal Credit Union, Washington, D.C. where she was a Senior Loan Officer. Anna and Ray spent their retirement in Montross, VA, where they made lifelong friends and were members of Glebe Harbor Cabin Point Club.

She enjoyed her yearly trips with her daughters to Myrtle Beach, shopping, golfing with the ladies in the golf league, watching her soaps and going to the thrift stores where she always found the best deals… She certainly knew how to haggle. However, her greatest joy was cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Theresa A. Riley (Danny) Linden, TN, Sharon E. McCauley (Mark Wood), Aberdeen, MD and Dianne M. Miller (Gregory) Great Mills, MD.; Grandchildren James Riley (Niki), Raymond Riley, Anna Jones (Frank), Jessica Brueckner (Andrew), Melissa Jones (James), Christina Roach (Daniel), Ronald DePalma, Jr., Brittany Dove (Timothy) and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was a devout member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Hague, VA.

Visitation, Monday, May 8, 2023, 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Mattingly-Gardiner Funeral Home, 41590 Fenwick Street Leonardtown, MD 20650. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 11:00 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 7808 Cople Highway, Hague VA 22469. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: James Jones, Andrew Brueckner,Daniel Roach, Timothy Dove, Kadin Feltner, and Jordan Dove. Honorary Pallbearers: Francis M. Martin III, Edward J. Martin, Gregory Miller and John Martin.
