Very Special Woman

I first met Georgianna, the memory comes to me clearly now, at their apartment in Burtonsville, before Rena and Warren were married. I remember thinking she was so young, like almost my age (I am pretty old now too but back then...anyways).

Over the years I had the priviledge of having these little stolen chats here and there with her, we always had a nice shared connection, away from the din of family conversation. Those who know me know I am "deaf" or "hard of hearing" or something in that vein. I published a book about this, about growing up deaf, back in 2004.

I was surprised that Georgianna mentioned this book at a very recent Tolson family gathering, and I was actually surprised she had read it, because most people with no connection to the Deaf Community would not. But she did. That alone told me how exceptional she was. Open-minded, caring, loving.

So glad I had the chance to know her and I know she left many good prints on many hearts.
Love to Rena, Warren, Julia, Joseph, Beth, her family, many others who knew Georgianna.
