Sheryl Ann Stamm
Sheryl Ann Stamm, 67, of Bushwood Maryland passed away on 4/28/2023 in Washington DC with her children by her side. She was born in Washington DC on 7/25/1955.
Sheryl graduated from Suitland High School in 1973. From there, she earned her degree in Nursing at Prince George’s Community College. She spent many years caring for patients at Southern Maryland Hospital, however most of her career was spent at St. Mary’s Nursing Center in Leonardtown, Maryland. She dedicated many years of hard work to the residents there, whom she cared deeply about. She held a special place in her heart for the elderly.
In 1982 she married the love of her life, Roy, and together they enjoyed 38 years of loving marriage until his passing in 2021. She missed him dearly. They raised four children together, Jennifer, Pamula, Matthew, and Jessica.
Sheryl was a true animal lover. She enjoyed bird watching and photographing local wildlife. She was always happiest outdoors, whether it was planting flowers and trees or enjoying an ocean breeze. Sheryl was kind, caring, and sentimental. She was always there to offer words of advice or support to her family and friends. However, she was also strong and fierce, and was never known to back down from what she truly believed in. She will be missed beyond measure.
Sheryl is now reunited with her loving husband Roy, her mother and father, Shirley and John, her brother Steven, and her step-grandson Joey. She is survived by her children, Matt and Jessi, her step-children, Jenny and Pam, her grandchildren Wyatt and Presley, and her step-grandchildren, Roy, Vivian, and Bo. She is also survived by her sister Sharon, nephews Ryan, Cory, and DJ, and her uncle Carl.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. Where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Gillikin officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Humane Society.
