Sharon Kay Tippett
Sharon Kay Tippett, 77, of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Baltimore City, MD, passed away on November 27, 2023 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on January 14, 1946 in Baltimore City, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lurean Fenwick and the late Thomas William Fenwick. Sharon was the loving wife of the late William Herman Tippet, whom she married in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Morganza, MD in December 1963, and who preceded her in death on February 18, 2003. She is survived by children Jonina Guy (Buddy) of Loveville, MD and Billy Tippett (Melissa Fuller) of Mechanicsville, MD, as well as her grandchildren Candice Judy (Tim) of Pasadena, MD and Kenny Guy (Shandi Ringley) of Mechanicsville, MD. Sharon was also blessed with four great granddaughters, Hadley, Addyson, Isabella, and Eden, as well as two granddoggies, Gator and Rosie. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Laverne Lorenz, Ruth Steele, Geraldine Morgan, Mary Lou Lathe, Delores Church, Jack Fenwick, Jr., and Pamela Holtzapple.
Sharon graduated from St. Jerome High School in 1960, and then earned her Business degree in 1962 from St. Peter The Apostle Business School. She was an Owner/Operator as well as a Master Barber at Odenton Barbershop for 55 years until she retired.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Morganza, MD, with Father Drew Royals officiating. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Helen, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Guy, Billy Downs, Jay Quade, Alex Sternack, Mark Anthony Burch, and Bill Bill Mason.
