Stephen S. "Beaver" Morgan
Stephen S. Morgan, “Beaver”, 83 of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on December 12, 2023 at his home. Born on November 11, 1940 in Mechanicsville, MD, he was the son of the late Elizabeth Morgan and the late Mitchell Morgan. Steve was the loving husband of Margaret Ann Morgan, whom he married on December 17, 1971 at the courthouse in Leonardtown, MD. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Stephen Morgan (Julie) of Mechanicsville, MD, his siblings, Lenny Morgan, Lewis Morgan, Ambrose Morgan, Ronald Morgan, Donald Morgan, Marlene Tippett, and Wayne Morgan, all of Mechanicsville, MD, Sissy Pfuhl of Bowie, MD, and David Morgan of Great Mills, MD, his grandchildren, Charles Morgan, Stephanie Morgan, James Morgan, and Daniel Morgan, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his siblings Mitchell Morgan, Harvey Morgan, and Imogene Summers.
Steve was a carpenter for Wayne Davis Construction for 15 years, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Blue Grass, and playing cards.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Father Drew Royals officiating. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be James Morgan, Daniel Morgan, Jay Morgan, Tommy Morgan, Brian Morgan, and Jeffery Raley.
