Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2006 at 9:30 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Visitation: Viewing/Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2006 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM. William Garland "Billy/Bill" Woodburn, 76 of California, MD died February 27, 2006 in St. Mary's Nursing Center. Born May 22, 1929 in Leonardtown, MD he was the son of the late Richard Martin and Beatrice Marie Norris Woodburn, Sr. He is survived by his siblings: Mildred Holek, Teresa Cusic and Frances Mozick all of Leonardtown, MD, Joseph Woodburn of Citrus, FL, Elizabeth Seligman of Greenville, SC, Norris Woodburn of Kinsale, VA, Mary Ellen Woodburn and Patricia Adams both of California, MD and Jack Woodburn of Mechanicsville, MD. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Adele Mattingly, Richard M. Woodburn, Jr. and Charles Woodburn, Sr. Mr. Woodburn was a life long St. Mary's County resident. He was a self employed tractor trailer driver. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1949 â?? 1953 where he received the United Nations Service Medal and Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars. After 40 years of service he retired in 1993. He enjoyed making wood toys for his great nieces and nephews; also collecting toy trucks and coins. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 2, 2006 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM.
