Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Holy Face Catholic Church with Father Joseph Sileo officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: Viewing/Visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2006 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM Susan Elizabeth "Suzer" Powell, 55 of California, MD formerly of Philadelphia, PA died March 23, 2006 in Leonardtown, MD. Born March 18, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of Sara Herron of Yardly, PA and the late Jacob Herron. She was the beloved wife of William Richard Powell whom she married on June 8, 1974 in Philadelphia, PA. She is survived by her children: Doreen Powell of Dover, NH and Melissa Alvey of Laurel Grove, MD and siblings: Kathleen Herron and Doreen Herron both of Yardly, PA. Mrs. Powell graduated from Girls High School Class of 1969 and La Salle College Class of 1973 with a Bacholer of Science Degree. She moved to St. Mary's County in 1974 from Philadelphia, PA. She was employed as a system analyst for National Technologies Associates for 1 year. Susan was a member of the Holy Face Parish Council and her hobbies included: calligraphy, crocheting and art. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 27, 2006 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM.
