Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 6 at 10:00 AM in St. Francis DeSalles Catholic Church, Bendeict, MD with Father Vitturino officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Washington, DC. Visitation: Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home with prayers being said at 7:00 PM Francis Clemens "Dutch" Brahler, 98, of Mechanicsville, MD died May 3, 2005 at his residence. Born July 16, 1906 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late George Thaddeus and Catherine M. Giebel Brahler. Mr. Brahler is survived by his children, Joan Turner and Ann Brahler both of Mechanicsville, MD and Cathy Adolf of Baltimore, MD. Also surviving are three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives: Teresa Agnes Brahler, whom he married in January 1930; Edna S. Brahler, whom he married in November 1958; and, Catherine Blake Brahler, whom he married in 1976. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Helen T. Brahler and Ruth Brahler. Mr. Brahler was a graduate of Gonzaga High School, Class of 1924. He relocated to St. Mary's County from Hyattsville, MD in December, 2000. Mr. Brahler was employed as an aircraft inspector for United Airlines/Capitol for over 28 years until his retirement in January, 1969. He was a member of the IAM Union, Local 1759 and the Knights of Columbus. The family received friends in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home on Thursday, May 5, 2005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 6, 2005 at 10:00 AM in St. Francis DeSalles Catholic Church in Benedict, MD with Father Vitturino officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Washington, D.C. Pallbearers for Mr. Brahler will be John Francis Brahler, Michael P. West, Christopher Borchert, David Borzi, Robert Moore and David Iaonone. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek W. Moore, Zachary T. Moore, Lucas T. Moore, Joe Hayden, Raymond Kline and Francis Johnson.
