A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 1:00 PM with Fr. Rory Conley officiating. Interment will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Leonardtown, MD.
Visitation:
Public Viewing/Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 from 12:00 Noon - 1:00 PM.
Mary Alberta "Bertie" Clements, 89 of Leonardtown, MD, died June 27, 2004 in St. Mary's Nursing Center. Born May 19, 1915 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter Dawkins Clements and Sarah Louise Vallandingham Clements. She is survived by her brothers Frank Floyd Clements and Walter Dawkins Clements, Jr. and sisters, Margaret Etoyle Clements Gulli of Leonardtown and Agnes Ruth Clements Yacovissi of Baltimore, and nieces and nephews Margaret "Peggy" Graves Schlosser, Robert "Bobby" Yacovissi, William "Billy" Yacovissi, Linda Lee Saunders Pixton, Donald Edward "Donnie" Saunders, Wayne Saunders, Carri Diane Clements Chick, William Robert "Bobby" Clements, John Lee Clements, Robert Clements, Jeannette Clements, Elizabeth Clements, William "Billy" Joseph Greaser and John "Johnny" Charles Greaser and great nieces, Susan Marie Schlosser Leach and Sharon Margaret Schlosser Mattingly and other great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by a great-great nephew, Bradley Wayne Mattingly. Miss Clements was predeceased by brothers, Charles Louis Clements, William Maurice Clements; sisters, Florine Elizabeth Clements Saunders, Frances Eileen Clements and Rose Marie Clements Kempe and a nephew Charles Andrew Clements. Miss Clements was a lifelong St. Mary's County resident who loved to listen to the Baltimore Oriole and New York Yankee baseball games. She also loved to read and listen to music. Miss Clements worked at the Leonardtown Laundry, St. Mary's Beacon Newspaper, Leonardtown, MD and The Inquiring Gazette Newspaper, Upper Marlboro, MD. She retired in 1970. She also worked in the Samuel Sowell's Drug Store for 13 years in Leonardtown, MD. Miss Clements was a charter member of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a lifelong member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 from 12:00 Noon â?? 1:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Fr. Rory Conley officiating. Interment will follow in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
