Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 25 in St. Mark's UAME Methodist Church in Valley Lee at 11 AM with Rev. Rudy Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Public Viewing will be held on Saturday, September 25 in St. Mark's UAME Methodist Church in Valley Lee from 10 - 11 AM.
Mary Madgelean "Mollie" Travers, 80, of Tall Timbers, MD died September 18, 2004 in Tall Timbers, MD. Born October 4, 1923 in Piney Point, MD she was the daughter of the late George William and Katie Ann Gross Briscoe. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elexander Travers, whom she married on November 27, 1947 in St. Mark's Church. Mrs. Travers is survived by her children, Jo-Ann Nunley of Tall Timbers, Mary G. Travers and Shirley A. Webb of Lexington Park and James A. Travers of Fayetteville, NC and 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy Sutton of Washington, DC, Mauline Jordan of Drayden, MD, and Pauline Briscoe, Marnette Briscoe and Inez Mosley of Lexington Park, MD. She was preceded in death by her sisters Delores Briscoe, Catherine Dicken and Marie Briscoe and her brothers Joseph Briscoe, James Briscoe, Eugene Briscoe, George Briscoe and Clarence Briscoe. She was a life-long St. Mary's County resident and was employed as a Domestic Worker for 21 years prior to her retirement in 1985. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, September 25, 2004 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in St. Mark's UAME Church in Valley Lee, MD where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dr. Rudy C. Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Travers will be Clarence Briscoe, Roosevelt Edison, Thomas Jordan, Daryl Mosley, Ronnie Blackwell and Marvin Blackwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Henderson Blackwell, Steve Maddox, Pete House, Thomas Briscoe, Daryl Blackwell, James Kendell Briscoe and LeVern Roache.
