Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 10:00 AM in St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Ron Potts officiating and Fr. Ray Schmidt co-officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation:
Public visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 from 5 - 8 PM with prayers being said at 7:00 PM
William Andrew "Willie" Morgan, Sr., 83, of Hollywood, MD, died on August 22, 2004 in Charlotte Veteran's Home, Charlotte Hall, MD. Born November 14, 1920 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late William Alexander Morgan and Carrie Thompson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Moran, whom he married on September 26, 1946 in St. Mary's County. He was the loving father of Mike Morgan, Jeannette Norris, and Keith Morgan all of Hollywood, MD, Dee Eisenberg of San Antonio, TX, William Andrew Morgan, Jr. of Georgetown, TX, Edward Morgan of La Plata, MD, and Raymond Morgan of Grant, MD. He is survived by his sister, Irma Delozier of Leonardtown, MD and 9 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carroll Morgan and sisters, Vertie Parker and Helen Hughes. Mr. Morgan graduated from Margaret Brent High School in 1935. He served his country in the U. S. Army from May 1944 until November 1945 and was stationed in Europe during World War II where he was held as a Prisoner of War. Mr. Morgan worked as a printer for the Enterprise Newspaper. His many hobbies included painting; bowling; building model airplanes; hunting; gardening; playing the guitar and piano; woodworking; and watching Baltimore Orioles Baseball Games. Prayers for Mr. Morgan were said on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, Wednesday, August 25th, at 10:00 AM in St. John's Catholic Church in Hollywood, MD with Father Ray Potts officiating and Father Ray Schmidt co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Adams, Mark Cullison, Bobby Moran, Kenny Moran, Bobby Norris and Brooks Norris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Schmalgemeyer, Michael Morgan and Ron Eisenberg.
