Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Fr. Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation: Public viewing will be held from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM Mary Elizabeth Guy, 83, of Loveville, MD died October 29, 2004 in St. Mary's Nursing Center in Leonardtown, MD. Born March 31, 1921 in Drayden, MD she was the daughter of the late Katherine M. Bond and George H. Payne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. "Bobby" Guy whom she married in St. Aloysius Church in Leonardtown, MD on March 28, 1940. Mrs. Guy is survived by her children, Donald Guy and M. Sonia Walker of Loveville, MD and Barbara L. Goode of Chaptico, MD and 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marguerite Goddard of Laurel, MD. She was preceded in death by her sons, Larry Guy and Jerry Guy. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Payne and her sisters, Agnes Knott and Martha Dyer. She was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County and a housewife and devoted mother. She enjoyed gardening, music and spending time with her family along with being a fantastic seamstress and was also a Sponsor for the Miraculous Medal Association. Prayers for Mrs. Guy were said on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, Wednesday, November 3, 2004 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Guy will be Alvin Goddard, Jr., Jay W. Guy, Michael Guy, Jeffrey Guy, Dale Delahay, and Patrick Goode. Contributions may be made to St. Mary's Nursing Center Trust Fund, P. O. Box 518, Leonardtown, MD 20650 and/or Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 299, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
