Visitation: Public viewing/visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday, February 28, 2005 from 5 - 7 PM. Gerald Thomas "Tom" Douglass, 65, of Red Gate, MD died February 22, 2005 in Leonardtown, MD. Born February 8, 1940 in Windber, PA he was the son of the late Ruth Maguire Fagan and Gerald Miller Douglass. He was the husband of Barbara A. Douglass whom he married in Johnstown, PA on December 24, 1961. He is survived by his children: Thomas M. and wife "Cindy" Douglass of California, MD, John R. and wife "June" Douglass of Great Mills, MD and Steven M. Douglass of Leonardtown, MD; sister: Jane A. Coffey of Mill Hall, PA; grandchildren: Christina Lace of Charlotte Hall, MD and Jonathan A. Douglass of Great Mills, MD; step-grandchildren: Rachel A. Douglass and Bethany N. Douglass both of California, MD and nephews: David M. and wife "Deborah" Coffey of St. College, PA, Douglas S. and wife "Betsy" Coffey of Lock Haven PA and Robert Coffey of Lewisburg, PA. Mr. Douglass graduated from Lock Haven High School Class of 1957 Lock Haven State College Class of 1961. He moved to St. Mary's County in 1997 from Charles County. He was a teacher at Westmont Hilltop Middle School in Johnstown, PA from 1961 â?? 1963 and from there he went on to teach in Prince George's County Schools from 1963 until his retirement in 1994. He also owned and operated the Rondevous Bar & Lounge in Red Gate, MD. He belonged to the Waldorf Elks Lodge #2421, Past ER and The Moose Lodge. The family will receive visitors on Monday, February 28 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home from 5 â?? 7 PM. Interment will take place in Richland Cemetery, Johnstown, PA on Wednesday, March 2 . Contributions may be made to Roxbury Church of the Brethern, Elevator Fund, 112 Sell Street, Johnstown, PA 15905. Arrangements provided by Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A.
