Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Smith III officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Visitation: Public Viewing & Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2005 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. Louis Anthony "Bobby" Short, 42, of Mechanicsville, MD died August 13, 2005 in Clements, MD. Born January 29, 1963, he was the son of Arline E. Short of Mechanicsville, MD and the late Robert Henry Short. He is survived by his brothers, Stanley Armstrong, Glenn, Floyd, Charles, and Rodney all of Mechanicsville, MD, Bernard of Washington, D.C., Joseph of Lanham, MD, Robert of Chaptico, MD, William of Baltimore, MD and Raoul of Stafford, VA and his sister, Barbara, of Waldorf, MD. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Raymond. Mr. Short was a life-long resident of St. Mary's County and attended Chopticon High School. He was self-employed as an Auto Mechanic for 20 years. He enjoyed Auto Mechanics, Boxing, Baseball, Dancing and spending time with his family. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 20, 2005 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home where a Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM with Reverend John Smith, III officiating and Dr. B. Elizabeth Short-Clark co-officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers for Mr. Short will be Charles Hill, Stanley Armstrong, Jr., Kashif Short, Kadeem Short, Robert Henry Short, III and Robert Dotson. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Short, Jr., Jordan Koron Short, Joshua Short, Bryce Short, Glenn Short, Jr. and Germaine Short.
