Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 7, 2005 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bushwood, MD with Fr. Francis J. Early officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation:
Public visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, November 6, 2005 from 2 - 5 PM with prayers being said at 3:00 PM.
Frances Elizabeth Saunders, 86, of Chaptico, MD died November 3, 2005 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born December 18, 1918 in Abell, MD she was the daughter of the late Joseph Stewart and Alice Selina Wise Norris. She was the loving wife of Walter Alan Saunders whom she married on August 24, 1985 in Bushwood, MD. She is survived by her children: Selina G. Scorah of Merritt Island, FL and Joseph A. Turner of Chaptico, MD; brother: James B. Norris of Chaptico, MD and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband Joseph Wade Turner whom she married on December 26, 1936 and passed away on October 7, 1973. She was also preceded in death by her late husband John Francis Hall whom she married on June 27, 1974 and passed away on April 12, 1982; brothers and sisters: Elva Bailey, Irving Norris, George Earl Norris, Gertrude Cusic, Norman Norris, Joseph Cunningham Norris, James Elliot Norris, Mary Agnes Ellis, Eleanor Chrisenbury and Cecil Norris. Mrs. Saunders was a life long St. Mary's County resident. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening, being a foster mother and an elder home care giver. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 6, 2005 from 2:00 â?? 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bo Saunders, Matthew Quade, Billy Thompson, Bubby Norris, Cecil Norris and Luther Wolfe.
