Services: A Memorial Mass will be said at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 29119 Point Lookout Road, Morganza, MD 20660, with Fr. Keth Woods officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation: Visitation will be Tuesday, December 6, 2005 from 9:30 AM till 10:30 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel, 41590 Fenwick Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650. James "Jimmy" Bernard Russell, 44, of Mechanicsville, MD died December 1, 2005 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born June 19, 1961 in Leonardtown, MD he was the son of James Edward and Mary Elizabeth Russell. He was the loving husband of Robin L. Russell, whom he married in Mechanicsville, MD on July 27, 1996 in the front yard of his home. He is survived by his son: Brandon Russell of Mechanicsville MD. He was the brother of Jackson Russell of Helen, MD; Michael Russell, David Russell, Donnie Russell, Emily Boggs, and Sue Norris all of Clements. He is also survived by his loyal companion "Bucky" his yellow lab retriever. He was a graduate of Chopticon High School. Mr. Russell was a life long St. Mary's County resident and was employed for twenty six years at Mirant Med Atlantic Power (PEPCO) as an Equipment Mechanic. He enjoyed USPGA golf, golfing, travel, reading, gourmet cooking, shell collections in Florida, spending time with his family, and Caribbean cruises. He was a proud supporter of Disabled American Veterans and NRA. A poem was read at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home by Beverly Russell. The family received friends on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass was held on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment was Private. Pallbearers were Donnie Russell, Jay Thompson, Todd Summers, and Lawrence Flerlage. Honorary Pallbearers were Jackson Russell, David Russell, Michael Russell, and Ray Allen. Contributions may be made to Mechanicsville Vol. Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 15, Mechanicsville, MD 20659 and/or American Heart Association, 415 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201-4101.
