Dorothy Ethel Richardson

Services: Services will be Private. Dorothy W. Bridges Richardson, 87, of Lexington Park, MD formerly of Sanford, ME died December 4, 2005 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born September 10, 1918, in Parkman, ME, she was the daughter of the late Roy Leland and Elsie A. Currier Whitney. She was the loving wife of Ralph E. Richardson whom she married in Sanford, ME. She is survived by her granddaughter Carolyn Graessle of California, MD and Diana Daily of Lathrop, CA; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse Philip J. Bridges of San Diego, CA, her children Judith Smith and Alan Bridges, and her brother Alden Whitney. Mrs. Richardson moved to St. Mary's County one year ago from Sanford, ME. She graduated from Brewer High School Class of 1935. She worked as a hair dresser, and was a small business owner for Dot's Fabrics, in Escondido, CA, and retired in the late 1970's. She belonged to the Sweet Adelines and enjoyed sewing, spending time with family and friends, shopping and taking pictures. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2005, at 3:00 PM in the Patuxent Presbyterian Church in California, MD with Rev. Michael Jones officiating and Rev. James Gunn co-officiating. Interment will be Private. Contributions may be made to Patuxent Presbyterian Church, Building in Faith Fund, 23421 Kingston Creek Road, California, MD 20619.
