Services: Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. in Maryland Veteran's Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD. Visitation: Wednesday, June 22, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Jay Richard Dulemba, 53, of California, MD died June 9, 2005 in Leonardtown, MD. Born September 8, 1951 in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Mitchell A. and Ruth E. Duggan Dulemba. He is survived by his wife, Marcelina B. Dulemba, whom he married on September 17, 1974 in Ste. Maria Village, Angeles City, Leyte, Republic of the Philippines. Mr. Dulemba is also survived by his children, Sammy Badilla of Callaway, MD, Stefan J. Dulemba of Great Mills, MD and Shannyn E. Dulemba of California, MD and 4 grandchildren. His siblings, Jane M. Lyddy of Leominster, MA, Judith A. Ayers of Florida, Jerrilyn F. McNamara of Lowell, MA and Joseph W. Dulemba of Massachusetts also survive. He was preceded in death by his brothers James S. Dulemba and John M. Dulemba and his sister, Janice R. Dulemba. He was a graduate of Billerica High School, Class of 1970. Mr. Dulemba enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on May 10, 1971 and remained in service to his country for twenty and one-half years until his retirement on December 31, 1991. While in the Air Force he served tours of duty in Egypt, Philippines, Thailand, Australia and Andrews Air Force Base, MD where he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his exemplary service in supporting the logistics of Air Force One and other Executive Branch aircraft. He was also a Vietnam era veteran. He moved to St. Mary's County in December1991 after his retirement from Andrews Air Force Base and worked as a Distribution Coordinator for DynaCorp at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station for the past 12 years. He was an avid fisherman, an ardent boater and enjoyed crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay. Jay was a loving husband to his wife, Lina, and a giving father to his children, Sammy, Stefan and Shannyn. He was also very generous to his grandchildren, Samuel, Courtney, Karla and Wes. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 11:00 AM in the Maryland Veteran's Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD with interment to follow. Pallbearers for Mr. Dulemba will be Sammy Badilla, Stefan Dulemba, John Dulemba, Jr. Dennis Lyddy, Sean Lyddy and Deanna Lyddy.
