Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 18, 2005 at 11:00 AM in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Washington, DC with Msgr. Richard W. Burton officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation: Public Viewing & Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2005 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 3 PM; Public Viewing & Vistitation will also be held on Monday, July 18, 2005 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Washington, DC Edith Russell "Edie" Burton, 92 of California, MD formerly of Stuart, FL and College Park, MD died July 13, 2005 at her home in California, MD. Born May 17, 1913 in Oakley, MD she was the daughter of the late William Mason and Lucy Florence Woodburn Russell. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Lyle Burton in Leonardtown, MD on October 8, 1998. She is survived by her son: Rev. Msgr. Richard W. Burton of Washington, DC. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sister: James Victor Russell, Joseph Dennis Russell, William Lemuel Russell, George Gibson Russell and Mary Theresa Wilkinson. Ms. Burton attended River Springs High School. She enjoyed playing cards, such as pitch and bridge. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 17, 2005 from 2:00 â?? 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 3:00 PM with Father Ray Schmidt of St. John's Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD officiating. A Second Viewing & Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2005 from 10:00 â?? 11:00 AM in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Washington, DC, where A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Rev. Msgr. Richard W. Burton officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary's, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650 and/or St. John's Building Fund, P. O. Box 69, Hollywood, MD 20636.
