Services: Prayers will be said on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Aloysius Church at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 27, 2005. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD at 2:00 PM. Visitation: Tuesday, July 26, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thomas Gonsalvo Hodges, IV, "Gonnie", 92, of Leonardtown, MD died on July 24, 2005 at his residence. Born April 15, 1913 in Oakley, MD he was the son of the late Thomas G. and Virginia Gibson Hodges, III. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Peacock Hodges whom he married in Sacred Heart Church, Washington, D.C. on February 12, 1936. He is survived by his children, Patricia McCarthy of Arlington, VA; Thomas G. Hodges V of Arlington, VA; John Hodges of Lewes, DE; and, Michael Hodges of Hyattsville, MD and 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Sarah Katherine Hodges, Lorraine Hodges Duke, Margaret Hodges Lee and his brothers, Aloysius Coode Hodges, Louis Mattingly Hodges, Edwin Joseph Hodges, Ernest Smith Hodges, John Michael Hodges, and James Milford ("Tom") Hodges. Mr. Hodges was employed as a Meat Cutter/Grocer at Hardesty's Market and Larimer's for 55 years until his retirement in April 1988. He relocated to St. Mary's County from Washington, DC in 1997. The family will receive friends in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at 9:00 A.M. in St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Father Frank Burch officiating. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD at 2:00 P.M. Pallbearers for Mr. Hodges will be his grandsons, Thomas Ramsey Hodges, Glen Hodges, Robert McCarthy, Keith Hodges, Brian Hodges and Joseph McCarthy.
