Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 10:00 AM in St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Raymond Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: Viewing/Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM followed by VFW Prayers at 7:10 PM. William Francis Lacey, 74, passed away on May 25, 2006 at his residence in Hollywood, MD. Born June 15, 1931 in Bushwood, MD he was the son of the late William Dudley and Mary Elise Knott Lacey. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Ann "Peggy" Lacey; loving father of Charles Allen Lacey, and his friend Ann Tippett, Dora Jean Lacey Quinlan and her husband Wesley and Deborah Ann Lacey Dean and her husband Dale Robert; cherished grandfather of Jeffrey Allen Lacey, Jessica Ann Dean Vallandingham and her husband Bo, Amanda Lynn Dean, Derek Justin Pierotti, Lacey Lynn Pierotti and Kimberly Dale Dean; great grandfather of Chloe Lynn Dean and Dale Richard Vallandingham. Mr. Lacey was preceded in death by his brothers James Godfrey, Paul Benjamin, John Aloysius and sisters Mary Lucille Magill, Margaret Ann Lacey, Teresa Marie Lacey and Grace Margaret Symthers. Mr. Lacey is also survived by his siblings Agnes Mildred Vallandingham, Gladys Louise Johnson, Elizabeth Jean Cusic and Joseph Dudley Lacey. Francis and Peggy were married on October 20, 1956 at St. John's Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD. Mr. Lacey served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War era Veteran from 1952 â?? 1956. He retired from the Pest Control Shop at the Public Works Department, Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD in 1988. Mr. Lacey was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2632 and was a member of the VFW Maryland State Honor Guard for 29 years. Mr. Lacey was a charter member of the Moose Lodge 2393, military order of the cootie and American Legion. Mr. Lacey was a life long St. Mary's County resident. He loved the outdoors and salt water fishing. He will be sorely missed by many friends and family members. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM followed by VFW Prayers at 7:10 PM.
