Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 10:00 AM in St. Cecelia Catholic Church, St. Mary's City, MD with Fr. Damian Shadwell officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visitation: Public visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2006 from 9 - 10 AM in St. Cecelia Catholic Church. Robert Louis Butler, Sr., 73 of Park Hall, MD died July 2, 2006 in Washington Hospital Center. Born December 2, 1932 in Leonardtown, MD he was the son of the late William and Nettie R. Fenwick Butler. He was the loving husband of Eva C. Butler whom he married May 4, 1957 in St. Peter's Church. He is survived by his children Pamela Butler of Lexington Park, MD and Robert Butler Jr. of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter "Baby Girl" and siblings William C. Butler, George Butler, Blanche Butler and Sadie Butler Terrell. He graduated from Cardinal Gibbons Institute. He was a life long St. Mary's County resident where he worked as an Asphalt Worker for the Civil Service Public Works Department at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. He retired in March of 1989 after twenty three years of service. He also worked as a Security Guard at Harry Lundenburg School of Seamanship. Mr. Butler also served in the Army for more than three years during the Korean War. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus. The Family will receive friends Saturday, July 8, 2006 from 9:00-10:00 AM in St. Cecelia's Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM with Fr. Damian Shadwell officiating. Interment will follow in the St. James Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Butler, Jr., Shannon Butler, Brian Terrell, Bobby Butler, Phillip Harris, and Marvin Terrell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Otha Spence, Christopher Saxon, David Spence, Ernest Spence and Nat Campbell. Arrangements provided by Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A.
