A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon George L'Hreaux officiating.Interment will follow in Joy Chapel Cemetery, Hollywood, MD.
Visitation:
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel.
Carrie Hare Moore, 92, of Lexington Park, MD and formerly of Westminister, SC died November 15, 2007 in Bayside Nursing Center. Born November 6, 1915 in Westminister, SC she was the daughter of late Wallace and Addie Rholetter Hare. She was the loving wife of the late Oscar Clint Moore, whom she married on December 24, 1936 in Westminister, SC and who preceded her death on July 3, 1998. She is survived by her children Elaine and Ronald Moore, both of Lexington Park, MD as well as her siblings Vernon Hare of Hollywood, MD, Bruner Hare of Longcreek, SC, Beulah Phillips of Westminister, SC and Eva Gause of Madison, SC. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Brodus Hare, Nelson Hare, Ivy Murray, Vinnie Holden and Wallace Hare, Jr. Mrs. Moore graduated from Madison High School in South Carolina and moved to St. Mary’s County in 1945 from Westminister, SC. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and attending yard sales and was a member of the Garvey Senior Citizen Association. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Joy Chapel Cemetery, Hollywood, MD. Pallbearers will be Ronald Moore, Vernon Hare, Bobby McGill, Gene Pellillo, John Garner and Clay Siber.
