Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bushwood, MD with Fr. Francis Early officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation: Viewing/ Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. Margaret Beatrice Hill, 81, of Chaptico, MD died February 9, 2008 in Washington Hospital Center. Born March 19, 1926 in Bushwood, MD she was the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Lacey. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Wilford Hill on August 12, 1971, whom she married on April 2, 1945 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bushwood, MD. She is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth Nelson and her husband Mickey of Clements, MD, Annie Marie Lacey and her husband Elmer, Ruby Lacey and her husband Melvin all of Chaptico, MD, Charlotte Lacey of Mechanicsville, MD and Lorraine Helwig and her husband John of Scotland, MD; siblings: Shirley Knott and Louise Mattingly both of Chaptico, MD, Dorothy Trossbach and Ann Cheseldine both of Abell, MD, Theresa Thompson of Bushwood, MD, John Lacey of Clements, MD, Ed Lacey, Howard Lacey and Joe Lacey all of Avenue, MD and Andrew Lacey of Compton, MD; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Mrs. Hill was a life long St. Mary’s County resident where she worked as a housewife. She enjoyed gardening, canning, putting together puzzles, sewing and playing the fiddle and the organ. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bushwood, MD with Fr, Francis Early officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Allen Lacey, Leroy Hill, Stephen Lacey, Charles Lacey, Leonard Nelson and Jay Helwig.
