Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private. Kenneth Ray “Kenny” Ulrich, 78, of Lexington Park, MD and formerly of Worden, IL died February 10, 2008 in St. Mary’s Hospital after fighting a long battle with cancer. Born January 30, 1930 in Worden, IL, he was the son of the late Oscar and Loraine Heinemicer Ulrich. He was the loving husband of Hazel Ulrich (Boots) whom he married in Solomons Island, MD May 3, 1978. He is survived by his children; David Ulrich of Honolulu, HI, Debra Brook of Hudson, OK, Donald Ulrich of Staunton, IL, Daniel Ulrich, of Mt. Olive IL, Patricia Rivenbark of Great Mills, MD, Skye Hobgood, of Lexington Park, MD and his brother George Ulrich of Staunton, IL as well as his grandchildren Drew Thompson of Mooresville, NC, and Logan Thompson of Houston, TX, nine other grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was employed with McDonnell Douglas as an aircraft mechanic for 46 years and a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union affiliated with the AFL-CIO. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge and enjoyed bowling, gardening, hunting and fishing. Kenny owned and operated Pat's Bar and Grill, a "Cheers" type tavern in Lexington Park, Md. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Mary’s County Unit, P.O. Box 1032, Lexington Park, MD 20653.
