Services: A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 10:30 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. Margaret Ann “Peggy” Smith Giddings, 76, of Helen, MD formerly of Hollywood, MD and Valley Lee, MD died November 21, 2008 in Bushwood, MD. Born May 15, 1932 in Nyack, NY she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Martha Potter Smith. She was the loving wife of Clifton H. “Tom” Giddings whom she married on October 16, 1954 in Columbus Presbyterian Church, Columbus, NJ. She is survived by her children: Victor Tom Giddings of Bethesda, MD, Jeffrey Herbert Giddings of Rockville, MD, Karen Weining of Newark, DE and Gary Dunham Giddings of Lakeland, FL; sister: Jean Gale of Wrightstown, NJ and 4 grandchildren. Peggy graduated from Pemberton High School, Pemberton, NJ on June 8, 1949 and she also attended NJ College for Women in Rider College Trenton, NJ. She moved to St. Mary’s County in 1955 from Silver Spring, MD. She was a housewife and a member of Terra Marie Quilters. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 10:30 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gregory Syler officiating. Interment will be Private. Contributions may be made to St. George’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 30, Valley Lee, MD 20692.
