Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 11:00 AM in St. George's Catholic Church, Valley Lee, MD with Msgr. Karl Chimiak officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation: Viewing/Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM in St. George's Catholic Church, Valley Lee, MD. Gilbert F. Lawrence, 62, of Waldorf, MD and formerly of St. Mary’s County, died December 15, 2008 at his residence. Born July 18, 1946 in Leonardtown, MD he was the son of Irene Lawrence Gross of Piney Point, MD. He is also survived by his siblings; Mack Lawrence and his wife Alice of Waldorf, MD, David Lawrence and his wife Karen of NJ, Theresa Lawrence of Piney Point, MD, Gloria Church of Clinton, MD, Donald Gross and his wife Shirley of Mechanicsville, MD, James Gross and his wife Linda of California, MD, Ida Mae Gross of Piney Point, MD, Charlotte Gross of Piney Point, MD and Steve Gross of California, MD. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Gross and his sister Geraldine Gross. Gilbert was a graduate of Banneker High School and was employed as a maintenance engineer with the Local Union 99 of Washington, DC for thirty years. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 20, 2008 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM in St. George’s Catholic Church, Valley Lee, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Msgr. Karl Chimiak officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jermiah Cutchember, Michael Berry, Teddy Foote, Irving Lawrence, Steve Maddox and Bernard Thompson.
