Services: A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 2, 2009 with Rev. Harry Harper officiating. Interment will follow in St. George Episcopal Cemetery, Valley Lee, MD. Clifton Herbert “Tom” Giddings, 80, of Bushwood, MD died December 27, 2008 in Bushwood, MD. Born August 5, 1928 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Herbert Tom and Louie Elizabeth Giddings. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ann Smith Giddings on November 21, 2008 and whom he married on October 16, 1954 in Columbus Presbyterian Church, Columbus, NJ. He is survived by his children: Victor Tom Giddings of Bethesda, MD, Jeffrey Herbert Giddings of Rockville, MD, Karin Ann Weining of Newark, DE and Gary Dunham Giddings of Lakeland, FL and 4 grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sister Joan Louie Moreland. Tom graduated from Southern High School Class of 1945 and the University of Maryland Class of 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He moved to St. Mary’s County in 1954 from Anne Arundel County where he worked as a carpenter. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 10:30 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harry Harper officiating. Interment will follow in St. George’s Episcopal Cemetery, Valley Lee, MD. Contributions may be made to St. Mary’s County Hospice House, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
