A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 11:00AM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Compton, MD, with Fr. John Mattingly officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery, Bushwood, MD.
Visitation:
The family will recieve friends on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 5:00-8:00PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where prayers will be said at 7:00PM.
G. Teresa Mills, 70, of Leonardtown, MD died May 6, 2010 in Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC. Born November 8th, 1939 in Avenue, MD she was the daughter of the late Thomas Bertrand and Ann Louise Russell Thompson. Teresa was the loving wife of Lawrence Mills whom she married on March 5th, 1960. She is also survived by her children Jeffrey Mills (Judy) of Waldorf, MD, Bonnie Tountasakis (Lazarus) of Queenstown, MD, her grandchildren; Mitchell Mills and Katelyn Tountasakis, her siblings; Sister Mary Martha of Georgetown, Washington, DC, Billy Thompson (Alice Ann) of Mechanicsville, MD, Harriet Cuel (Frank) of Tennessee, George Thompson (Franny) of Hollywood, MD, Johnny Thompson (Janet) of Avenue, MD, Dot Reichard of Leonardtown, MD and sister-in-law Myrtle Thompson of Avenue, MD. Teresa is preceded in death by her Brother Butch Thompson of Avenue, MD. Teresa graduated from Margaret Brent High School’s class of 1958. She was not a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County and moved here in 1993 from Prince Georges County. Teresa was a Comptroller for various automotive dealerships including Walker Pontiac for 30 plus years until her retirement in 2002. Teresa enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, gambling, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May, 13, 2010 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 14th, 2010 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Compton, MD at 11:00 AM where Fr. John Mattingly will be officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery, Bushwood, MD. Pallbearers will be Billy Thompson, Johnny Thompson, Bobby Thompson, George Thompson, Tommy Thompson and Jay Thompson.
