Edward “Ed” “Eddie” John Conner, Jr., 74, of Prince Frederick, MD, died September 20, 2011 at his residence. Born on November 22, 1936 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Edward J, Conner, Sr., and Catherine E. Jameson. Mr. Conner married Dale Ann Conner in La Plata, MD in 1979 and she preceded him in death on November 18, 2009. Mr. Conner is survived by his children: Victor L. Tate and Tina M. Tate both of Aldie, VA and a sister Mary Kaye Howard of Port Tobacco, MD. Mr. Conner graduated from St. John’s College High School in Washington, DC. Mr. Conner moved from Charles County, MD to Calvert County in 1979 and worked as a Manager at the Stardust Motel for 35 years until he retired in 2002. Mr. Conner enjoyed; Wood working, auto repair, small engine repair, fishing, hunting, electrical, and steam engines. He was the best father a son could have. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Contributions in memory of Edward John “Eddie” Conner, Jr. may be made to the Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Society, 3725 Dr. Samuel Mudd Road, Waldorf, MD 20601. Arrangements provided by the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, P.A, Leonardtown, MD.

“ED WILL BE MISSED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. HE WAS A SWEET PERSON WHO ALWAYS HELPED US OUT. HE WOULD FIX OUR LAWNMOWER TIRES WHEN THEY WENT FLAT AND CUT THE GRASS ACROSS THE STREET. HE WAS ALWAYS FIXING SOMETHING.HE TOLD ME HE JUST GOT HIS BOAT RUNNING PROPERLY BUT NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO TAKE IT OUT AND GO FISHING. ED WAS A KIND AND GIVING MAN, HE WOULD SHARE HIS VEGTABLES WITH HIS NEIGHBORS AND ALWAYS TAKE TIME TO TALK WITH YOU. WE WILL MISS YOU ED REST IN PEACE”
