A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ridge, MD with Fr. Lee Fangmeyer officiating. Interment will be follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation:
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ridge, MD.
Lucy Elizabeth Wood, 86, of Ridge MD, died on March 2, 2012 at her home. Born on July 5, 1925 in Sclotland, MD., she was the daughter of the late Sadie E. “Ridgell” and Charles I. Norris. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Matthew-“Pee Wee” Wood, whom she married on June 20, 1945 in St. Michaels Catholic Church in Ridge, MD, he preceded her in death on December 26, 1996. Mrs. Wood is survived by her children; Linda Cullison (Butch), Robbie Wood (Darlene), Jimmy Wood (Patty) of Ridge, MD., Joanne Carroll (Charles) of Myrtle Beach, SC., and 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by sister Mary Weasenforth of Ridge, MD. Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her daughter Lori Ann Wood, siblings; James (Shorty) Norris, Margaret Lumpkins, Charles Norris, Gregory Norris, and Joseph (Jonesy) Norris. Lucy graduated from St. Michaels High School and was a housewife. She was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, and was a member of the Ladies Lion Club. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in St. Michael Catholic Church, Ridge, MD from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM.
