May God Continue to Bless Your Family! “
“Steve was there when you needed him and even when you didn’t know you needed him. It is the small things I will miss about the friend on the other side of the cubicle wall. The siren guessing, the calls to Sharon starting with “Watcha doin?”, the calls made on behalf of those in need, and the updates on world events and mutual acquaintances. This poem sums up what I believe his guidance to us would be: He is Gone by Anonymous You can shed tears that he is gone or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he’ll come back or you can open your eyes and see all he’s left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he’s gone or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what he’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. “
“Sharon and family, from my remarks at Steve’s retirement from the Navy in Pensacola, you know the high regard in which I and the entire Navy AC community held him. I shall never forget him or the honor of speaking at his retirement. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus be with you in your grief and sorrow.”
“With our deepest sympathy.”
