Services: All services are private. Joel Eugene Hayward, 52, of Great Mills, MD formerly from Roque Bluffs, ME passed away on February 25, 2013 in Great Mills, MD. Born on June 29, 1960 he was the son of the late Julian A. and Anne M. Doyle Hayward. Joel is survived by his children; Jaime Lyn Cox of Jonesboro, ME, Jeremy E. Hayward of Leonardtown, MD, Destinie Hayward, Anne Hayward, and 3 grandchildren. Mr. Hayward is survived by his siblings; Julianne Guptill, Jolene Hayward, and Janelle Hayward all of Marshfield, ME, Jackie Oldfield of Eastbrook, ME, and James “Jimmy” Hayward of Clifton, ME. He is preceded in death by his bother Jeffrey Hayward. Joel graduated from Machias Memorial High School 1979, and served in the United States Navy from 1980 to 2010, 20 years active, and 10 years inactive, retiring in 2000. He worked as a fabricator for Platform Systems and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. All services are private.
